How to create an order on Hutch without placing it on your website

Updated over a week ago

Sometimes you want to send some products to an influencer or a friend, you can do this via the Hutch dashboard, removing the need to place the order via your online store.

You can place an order on Hutch by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Orders tab of the dashboard and press the blue "Create order" button in the top right hand corner.

  2. Enter a reference for the order, this must be unique to the order (this helps stop you from accidentally booking an order twice by mistake). An example reference could be "Influencer / JohnDoe / March Drop".

  3. Optionally, add any notes for Hutch. These notes will be seen by the warehouse staff when they pick and pack your order.

  4. Select the customer type, B2C (Business to Consumer) or B2B (Business to Business). Orders which weigh over 2kg should be created as B2B because they are packaged / shipped differently.

  5. Select the order type, Delivery or Collection. When creating a collection order, your customer can collect the items from the Hutch warehouse and no delivery address is required.

  6. Optionally, select the shipping method. You can use this to override the defaults configured using your shipping rules, e.g you may normally send your deliveries using Second Class tracked, but you want this one order to be sent Next Day.

  7. Enter the customers address.

  8. Select the items you want to send to the customer.

  9. Select the blue "Submit order" button in the top right corner to place the order. If the button is grey, it's an indication that a required field (e.g. Postcode) hasn't been entered.
